Virgo
August 23 – September 22 · Earth · Mutable · ruler Mercury
Virgo finds rhythm in detail. Mercury + 6th-house transits pull the day toward effective, considered work.
What's in Virgo
Sun is in Virgo right now.
Every planet's sign todayVirgo season, to the day
The Sun is in Virgo now—it crossed in on 23 August and leaves on 23 September. Those are real crossings, computed from the Swiss Ephemeris—the almanac's “August 23 – September 22” is a rounded average, and it is a day out most years.
What touches Virgo in September 2026
Every movement this month that stands in a whole-sign relation to Virgo, with the solar house it falls in. Sky-to-sky aspects are left out: they have no sign of their own, so they stand in no relation to yours.
- Venus enters Scorpio on the 10th, sextile your sign—your 3rd house.
- The new moon falls in Virgo on the 11th, in your own sign—your 1st house.
- Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini on the 11th, square your sign—your 10th house.
- Mercury enters Scorpio on the 30th, sextile your sign—your 3rd house.
What a sign gives the engine—and what it doesn't
Mercury rules Virgo, and that matters to the scoring in one specific way—not the way most sun-sign writing implies. Nothing gives Mercury extra weight because you are Virgo; the scoring never reads your Sun sign at all. What it does read is the transiting planet’s own condition: a Mercury moving through Virgo is in domicile, and our astrology engine counts that contact for more than the same aspect from a Mercury with no dignity.
In Virgo, Mercury is in domicile and Mercury is exalted; Jupiter is in detriment and Venus is in fall. Those conditions are the whole of what a sign does to a transiting body in our rulebook—the same dignity table the scoring reads, which is why a transit from a planet in its own sign counts for more than the identical angle from one with nothing here.
Right now Virgo’s ruler, Mercury, is in Libra, holding no dignity either way there.
The other thing a sign gives our astrology engine is geometry. Every transit stands in a whole-sign relation to Virgo—conjunct, sextile, square, trine or opposite—and that relation is fixed by the sign alone, so it is computable without knowing anything else about you. The dated lines above are exactly that, and exactly its limit.
Virgo is an earth sign, with Taurus and Capricorn. That is a fact about the sign and not about the scoring: our rulebook has no element term in it at all. The dated list above is computed for Virgo alone, and it comes out different for Taurus and Capricorn—same element, different geometry.
“Virgo, today the universe is on your side.”
Right now the sky holds what it holds—and whether any of it is “on your side” depends on where it lands in your chart, not on your being Virgo. Here is what is actually in the sign, and what touches it this month.
Kalendom is the precise and honest horoscope: it reads your natal chart against the real sky and turns months like this into your exact dates.
What the chart doesn't tell you
Sun-sign astrology is the entry point—it's also the least specific bit. Two Virgo suns born minutes apart in the same city can have wildly different days because their Ascendants (the cusp of the 1st house) sit at different degrees. House placement is where the mainstream horoscope stops and we keep going.
That's why the calculator asks for your birth time. With a real Ascendant, the Kalendom engine maps every transit to a specific house, so "Mars in your 5th" means something concrete for your life rather than a generic Virgo blurb.
Your sign is a personality, not a calendar
Everything above describes what Virgo tends to feel like. None of it can tell you when—two people born three weeks apart are both Virgo and share almost none of the same strong days. Timing comes from a whole chart meeting a moving sky, so here is one being scored against three real months of it.
We build your natal chart with the Swiss Ephemeris, place it in Placidus houses, then score each day by how the transiting planets aspect your chart—per life area, 0 to 100, with the exact reason. It is astronomy applied to your birth chart, not numerology.
The rulebook encodes that tradition whole—four centuries of transit doctrine, written down as rules you can read, not a model that guessed. Read the methodology.
