Cancer
June 21 – July 22 · Water · Cardinal · ruler Moon
Cancer is lunar. The Moon’s fast transits make Cancer days feel different — emotional ground shifts more often than for other signs.
What activations feel like
For a Cancer chart, our astrology engine spends most of its "why" copy on Moontransits — that's the ruling planet, the one whose movement most directly maps to days you actually notice. Trines and sextiles from Moonto your natal points are the strongest "magic" markers; squares and oppositions are the cautions.
The water element shows up too. Water signs lean lunar — the Moon and the outer planets (Neptune, Pluto) carry more weight. Days feel more emotional and tide-like than punctual.
What the chart doesn't tell you
Sun-sign astrology is the entry point — it's also the least specific bit. Two Cancer suns born minutes apart in the same city can have wildly different days because their Ascendants (the cusp of the 1st house) sit at different degrees. House placement is where Sun-sign apps stop and we keep going.
That's why the calculator asks for your birth time. With a real Ascendant, the Kalendom engine maps every transit to a specific house, so "Mars in your 5th" means something concrete for your life rather than a generic Cancer blurb.
How we score your days
For every day in your timeline we compute aspects between today's transiting planets and your natal points, weight them by orb (how exact the angle is) and by valence (how harmonious or tense the aspect is), and aggregate into per-area scores (love, money, work, energy) plus an overall day score.
The rulebook is versioned: the same inputs against the same rulebook version always produce the same scores. We publish the version on every result so you can tell when something changed.
Your sign is a personality, not a calendar
Everything above describes what Cancer tends to feel like. None of it can tell you when — two people born three weeks apart are both Cancer and share almost none of the same strong days. Timing comes from a whole chart meeting a moving sky, so here is one being scored against three real months of it.

We build your natal chart with the Swiss Ephemeris, place it in Placidus houses, then score each day by how the transiting planets aspect your chart — per life area, 0 to 100, with the exact reason. It is astronomy applied to your birth chart, not numerology.
The rulebook encodes that tradition whole — four centuries of transit doctrine, written down as rules you can read, not a model that guessed. Read the methodology.
